INA M. GASKILL: Badge #1761: Graduated from Frankfort (Ind.) High School, 1903. Graduated from Joseph Eastman Hospital's Training School for Nurses, Indianapolis, Indiana, 1906. (This hospital incorporated general hospital about 1904 or 1905. Most of training under Isabel Pierce of Providence General or Massachusetts General.) Following graduation did private duty and special duty nursing. in hospitals. Made tour of Colorado, Yellowstone Park, etc. Later two eastern trips including Niagara Falls, Albany, New York City, Washington, Norfolk and Richmond, Virginia. European tour in 1911, Mediterranean to Algiers, Naples, visiting Italy, Switzerland, France, Germany, Holland, England and Scotland, leaving for home from Glasgow. Visited hospitals in Rome, Paris and London. In 1913 after a short period of study and observa- tion began work in Indianapolis Free Tuberculosis Clinic. Clininc held daily 8:30 to 10:00; rest 4yrs of time spent in follow-up work in the home. Con- tinued in this work until 1917; was then put in charge of Out-patient and Social Service Department, Marion County Tuberculosis Sanatarium. In September 1919 was made Assistant Director Red Cross Public Health Nursing Service in Indiana, sys with Lake Division Department of Nursing, American Red Cross. From 1914 to 1917 was secretary of Indiana State Nurses' Association. In 1917 was appointed member State Board of Nurse Examiners for Indiana. For a number of years was member of Board of Directors, Marion County Graduate Nurses' Association. Large- ly through the efforts of Mrs. Peter Bryce this organi- zation WES responsible for the organization of the public health nursing association of Indianapolis, 23y/3 the Nurses' Association paying the first month's salary of the nurse. 1947
