II et. e rile Newn Z Mrs. S N January 13, 1934. D an ur 5 Mrs. Nan Cox Hare, Fort Blackmore, Virginia. relia e D My dear Mrs. Hare: When you were at National Headquarters in the Care J. summer there was one juestion that I entirely forgot to discuss with you, and that was the return of the cape which was issued to you when you were serving in the Virgin Islands. As you know, we R.) have a card in our file, which you signed, agreeing to return the cape when your service was completed. As we are quite short of capes, and are trying to keep a careful check on all those issued to nurses, will you let me hear from you at your earliest conven- ience, and if it is possible will you send the cape to us by parcel post. Even if it is in poor condition, send it in because we look the capes over as they are received and either have them mended for further use or else we salvage them to the Chapters. The Chapters are glad to get the material which they make up into children's garments, etc. I am wondering if you are still hoping for a position with the Tennesses Valley project. It seems to be developing now. I have heard more about it lately than I have for a long time. I would indeed like to hear that you had been given a position in connection with it. With best wishes, believe me Sincerely yours, Ida F. Butler, Assistant Director of Nursing, National Headquarters. IFB/AWH Cape read 1/24/34
