This is to advise in connection with the case
of Miss Helen Scott Hay that the Claims Committee has voted, and
the Chairman has approved, that an allowance be granted her of
$50.00 a month for six months, covering the period May 12th to
November 11, 1929, inclusive, with the understanding that at the
termination of this period, if necessary, the case will be given
further consideration.
I am enclosing for your information and file
copies of my letters of July 19th addressed to Miss Hay and to her
sister. I am also enclosing for your information copy of Miss
Butler's letter to Mrs. Woodruff, sister of Miss Hay, together with
her reply.
