My dear lies Ahrene:
A telegram has just been received from
Mr. Baxter, who is the Manager of our St. Louis Branch Office,
telling us thst s letter from Miss Elba Morse, Chicago, states -
"Miss Hay in hospital with what seeme to be a slight
stroke. Would seem she could not accept position.
Suggest that you and Mr. Baker get someone else in
line for work. Will get further detaile at once end
notify.'
As I do not know Kies Morse's address, I an writing to you to
see if you will not find out all you can about the ai tuation.
Mies Hay was expecting to go to our Branch
Office in St. Louis as Director of the Home Hygiene work. 1 am
hoping that thie is only & temporary indiepceition and its import
not as sericue as Mr. Baxter implies, and that we will not be
obliged to give up hopes of having her come back to our service.
Please find out all you can about it, and let
me know ae promptly as possible.
