Sir:
The Department acknowledges the receipt of your
letter of May 26th, requesting the transmission to the
diplomatic representative of American interests in
Sofia of a message for the Queen of Bulgaria reporting
the arrival of Misses Hay and Torrance in this country
on May 26th and expressing appreciation for the courte-
sies shown them.
The Department has requested the Spanish Ambassador
at Washington to endeavor to transmit the message through
the Spenish Minister at Sofia to the American Consul-
General there.
