I e 1 Tebruary 3, 1928. S. Mrs. Charlotte M. Heilman, St. George Hotel, L New York City. My dear Mrs. Heilman: Thank you very much for sending me the clipping about Alice Carr. 1 had already eeen it and am breder prepering an article on the subject for the Red Cross Courier and also for the Alumnae Magazine. Some day I want to aek you to write for the magazine some of your experiences se a Red Crose Field Representative. Many thanks for sending Miss Fraser's letter on. The reason I did not speak of the tea to the 125 people was I don't believe that I knew about it. I did know, however, about the certificates that Mise Havey presented, but I elwaye leave the Home Hygiene material for Mrs. Baker to use. 1f you are writing to Mies Fraser will you tell her that we were not entirely unaware of the work that Was done by Beadquarters our Committee, but that our services here at National are somewhat seneitive at times about other people using their material. I have thought of you many times eince you left and wieh I might have seen a little more of you before you got away. Lucy often speaks of you and refers to incidents that occurred while you were with her. She worked very hard over her examinatione and I believe acquitted herself quite sstisfactorily. Exeminations are e. terrible strain. Perhaps they are necessary, but I understand in the public school system and in some of the colleges they are not using them, but keeping a record of improvement, progress, effort, stc., during the year. We have had a very deep snow in Washington, almost equal if not quite so to the famous Knicker- bocker enowstorm. Curiously enough it ceme exactly eix years later and on the same day in the week, Saturday. With best wishes for your euccess, and s'gain thanking you for your kind- ness to Lucy end to me, I em Sincerely yours, N.H National Director, Nursing Service. 2 /
