Miss Katherine Holmes,
for report
American Red Cross Headquarters,
note
172 E Street, Washington, D. C.
My dear Miss Holmes:
Miss Alicia E. Hibbard has applied for
registration with our Vocational Bureau, and is being considered
for positions in social work.
We understand that you can give us information about
this applicant's qualifications. May I ask for a frank state-
ment of your opinion? Please consider training, experience and
personality. Information has been filed with this Bureau giving
the educational institutions attended and positions held. We
should value your opinion of the way in which this training and
experience has shown in the applicant's work. Your estimate of
the applicant's personality taking into consideration special
good points and limitations would help us in making recommenda-
tions for future positions. The information which you give will
not be shown to the applicant.
An accurate record of a social worker's experience with
adequate comment from those who know his work is important to
social work as a whole. A prompt reply will be of especial value
at this time. It will assist us in our filing if you use the
reverse of this sheet.
Very sincerely yours,
(Mrs.) Edith Shatto King
Manager
