You will, I know, be distressed to learn of the serious
illness of Mrs. Mary Hickey, Superintendent of the Veterans'
D
Administration Nursing Service.
Mrs. Hickey was taken to the hospital on June 16th. The
5
diagriosis was intestinal obstruction and an emergency operation
was indicated.

Mrs. Hickey through her membership on the National Committee
on Red Cross Nursing Service and in many other ways has been
connected with our Red Cross Nursing Services and has given
generously of her time to our work.
It occurred to me that you might wish to join the headquarters
and Eastern Area Staff in sending greetings in the form of flowers.
An envelope is attached for your contribution.
