My dear Mrs. Moody:
I have your letter of January thirteenth
asking me to return certain articles of equipment which were
issued to me before going overseas.
In January 1918 I received the full Red Cross
equipment from your office which included among other things
a Red Cross blanket, a cape and a sleeping bag. The next day
I received word from the Red Cross office to return one-half
of this equipment. Among the things returned at that timearing Alleathing
was the sleeping bag. I took with me oversens the Red Cross
blanket and the cape. The blanket was stolen while I was in
service in Roumania and if the Red Cross wishes me to pay for
it will you kindly let me know the correct amount to send.
The remainder of my equipment was returned to the Paris offich
in September 1919 with the exception of the cape which I still have,
have. As I am still in the Red Cross Public Health Nursing
service and occasionally wear the uniform I had considered
that I was entitled to keep the cape as all the other public
health nurses in this Bureau heve them.
If upon receipt of this letter you still wish
me to return the cape I will do so.
