Holt\nMarch 18,1942\n20 West 36th Street\nKansas City, Missouri\nMy dear Miss Holt:\nIn accordance with the nomination of the\nLocal Committee on Red Cross Nursing Service, we are KansasdCiyapioisstuydy\nas a member for a period of\ntwo years.\nThe developments in connection with national defense and our respon-\nsibilities for providing large numbers of nurses for the military forces, as\nwell as disaster preparedness, makes it imperative that each member of the\ncommittee have a definite share in its prescribed work. The attached com-\nmittee diagram (ARC 710-D) is suggestive of how each member may give the\nmost effective service in enrolling eligible nurses.\nAlthough you are familiar with the requirements for enrollment in\nthe Red Cross Nursing Service, you will find the attached pamphlet (ARC 703)\nhelpful in giving accurate information to other nurses. You will also be\ninterested in ARC 710 Extracts which explains the committee organization.\n\"Suggestions for stimulating interest in enrollment\" will be helpful to you\nin sharing responsibility for increasing the number of enrolled nurses.\nWe hope you will find the work interesting and stimulating; also\nthat you will make an effort to attend all committee meetings in order to keep\ninformed and to participate in the activities of the committee. It is only\nthrough the combined efforts of all enrolled Red Cross nurses that we may\nexpect to meet the needs of our country during this national emergency.\nFor your information, the following nurses are the officers of the\nLocal Committee to whom you will look for inspiration and guidance:\nMiss Esther H.
