December 23, 1938 Mr. John B. Kerr Wainscott, Long Island New York My dear Mr. Kerr% Evidence of the death of your sister, Miss Anna W. Kerr, American Red Cross nurse, has reached us and we wish to extend to you and your sisters our most heartfelt sympathy. Miss Kerr has always been a very devoted and loyal member of the Red Cross Nursing Service and there are those in this office who had the privilege of knowing her and serving with her when she was at National Headquarters during the World War. We are sure that you and your family will be interested to know that Miss Kerr's records will be retained on file at National Headquarters permanently and if you will be good enough to advise us of the cause of her death and send us any additional data which you would like to have become a part of these records, we shall be grateful. If you find your sister's appointment card and badge, No. 6831, her credentials as a Red Cross nurse, among her personal belongings, we shall be deeply grateful if you will forward them to this office for filing with her records.
