Dec. 15, 1938 American Journal of Nursing ANNA W. KERR Miss Kerr enrolled in the Red Cross Nursing Service in 1911. She was a graduate of Bellevue Training School for Nurses. Soon after graduation she returned to Bellevue as Assistant Superintendent of Nurses, and later became director of nurses of the Bureau of Child Bygiene, Department of Health, New York City. She was 8 close personal friend of Miss Deleno and served as Director of the Enrollment Bureau, National Headquarters, American Red Cross, from May 1917 until August 1919. In April of 1919 she went abroad under the American Red Cross to visit Miss Delano during her last illness. She went to the Saveney Hospital Center where she visited Miss Delano, who was just coming out of the aneathetic for her fourth operation. She roused herself to ask Miss Kerr, "Who is doing your work in Washington while you are away?" and again, "But what about my work? I must get back to my work." This conversation with Miss Kerr were the last words that Miss Delano spoke. Miss Kerr inherited from Miss Delano the little house in Canton, Pennsylvania, where the recent years she has lived.
