April 22, 1915. Miss Pauline Meyer, 445 Jefferson Avenue, Brooklyn, N. Y. My dear Miss Meyer: Before Miss Kerrigan sailed for Servis she gave mo your address as that of a friend in this country. We have recently had a cable from Belgrade stating that Miss Kerrigan is ill with typhus. They definitely stated, however, in this message that her condition is good and that the othor members of the unit are all right so that I feel sure we have no special reason to feel anxious in regard to Miss Kerrigan's recovery. I felt it only right, however, to notify you of her illness and am writing also to Mary Kerrigan in Dowra, Cavan County, Ireland, whose name Miss Kerrigan gave us as that of her nearest relative. I will let you know at once if we have any further information and they will surely notify us if Miss Kerrigan is not making a good recovery. Believe me, Yours sincerely, Chairman National Committee Red Cross Nursing Service. D-A.
