STATE OF OHIO, WASHINGTON COUNTY, SS:
Joseph C. Brenan, being duly sworn, says he is
49 years of age, and is by profession an attorney at law;
that he was born in Marietta, Washington County, Ohio, has
lived in said city all his life, and has been actively en-
twenty-seven years, and is a permanent member of the Legal
gaged in said city in the practice of law for more than
Advisory Board of Washington County, Ohio, and a member of
the advisory board of the relief section of the American
Red Cross.
Affiant further says that he has been personally
well acquainted with Miss Caroline Amelia Kidd since child-
hood; that she was born at Stanleyville, Washington County,
Ohio, about May 2, 1873, and has lived in said county all
her life except while taking her training as a nurse at
Cincinnati, Ohio.
Affiant further says that the birth records of
Washington County, Ohio, at and after the timme of her
birth, are very incomplete, and do not show her birth,
and that no member of her family is available without de-
lay to make this affidavit.
Affiant further saysthat said Carote ofieramelia Kidd
is of exceptionally good character and stands exceedingly
well in the community as a nurse and as an estimable woman.

at Marietta, Ohio, this 19th day of March, 1919.
