JLA Folder October 30, 1957 Mr. W. C. Missimer, District Manager National Life Insurance Company of Vermont 916 Poplar Street Erie, Pennsylvania Dear Mr. Missimer: Your letter fills me with embarrassment, as well as sadness. When I last wrote you in June I thought Miss Keil's days were really numbered. But we did not hear through our New York chapter of her death. It almost seems that the hand of fate arranged the date that she should depart. And, faithful to the end, your sister certainly exempli- fied a rare and beautiful friendship. I know she must be very tired after so long a vigil, but I also know that she would not have had it otherwise. Please convey to her our very deep sympathy. You and your family have been so close to Miss Keil that you also feel her loss deeply. Am so glad that you found additional material that will provide even more events of historical interest. You have been so kind to keep us posted on the progress, and I am afraid you have spoiled us a bit, to the point that we would be unhappy if we did not hear now and then. With all good wishes, and our sympathy to you, your family, and Miss Missimer in your loss of this noble woman. Sincerely, Virginia B. Elliman Director, Disaster Nursing and Nurse Enrollment VBE:vm cc: E.A.
