Miss Clara Noyes,
Bureau of Nursing Service,
Red Cross,
Washington, D. C.
My dear Miss Noyes,
I wish to affirm that I have known Agnes P.
Kloman, a trained Nurse of Fargo, South Dakota, for
about thirty years I have talked with her about the
War during the past eighteen months and I will vouch
in every way for her loyalty and that she is a most
capable, through and through, full blooded American
woman desirous of doing her part to assist in taking
care of the wounded and suffering.
Miss Kloman graduated in Baltimore at one
of the leading hospitals. She is well known to many
of the leading Doctors of John Hopkins University and
the hospital. Undoubtedly she has given the Red Cross
her experience and references. She has telegraphed to
me on account of my connection with the Government,
asking that I communicate with you immediately and
affirm her loyalty.
She requests that you be good enough to tele-
graph her at her expense to Fargo, South Dakota, whether
this letter from me will warrant your issuing necessary
instructions to the Fargo branch of the Red Cross so
that she may prepare immediately to leave for Overseas
work. The Red Cross is to be congratulated, in my
opinion, upon the opportunity of securing the services
of such a wonderfully capable woman as Miss Kloman.
the
My wife is well known in Red Cross Circles,
being in charge of the Chevy Chase Branch, and is well
known to Miss Castle. I shall request Mrs Horner to
see you in person when she returns next week, as Miss
Kloman is a particular friend of hers and I am sure that
she can convince you that you need her.
