My dear Miss Laxtons
We find that you meet our requirements for enrollment
as a Home Defense Nurse in the Red Cross Nursing Service and,
therefore, it gives us great pleasure to advise you that your
application has been accepted.
Under separate cover we are mailing you an appointment
card and badge. Will you please acknowledge their receipt at
your earliest convenience, on the postal card which accompanies
them?
You are permitted to have your name engraved on the
reverse side of the badge if you are willing to have it done
at your own expense.
Please read the regulations concerning the wearing of
the badge and be careful to always observe them.
May we also ask you to keep the Secretary of the Local
Committee with which you are enrolled, advised of any change in
your address. Each year a report form will reach you from the
Local Committee. This should be returned promptly as failure to

do so for two consecutive years places you in the Third Reserve
