My dear Miss Laxton:
In reviewing your papers it was necessary
to send your physical examination report of our Medical
Examiner and because of the report on the attack of poli6-
mylitis and consequent post condition of the right leg
the
due to this illness, you are rejected for general enrollment

in the Red Cross Nursing Service.
However, if we receive a satiafactory report
from the Cook County Hospital regarding your six months there,
for which we have written, we are quite sure that we will be
able to offer you Home Defense enrollment and hope that you
will be willing to accept it. It is explained on page 8 of
the enclosed pamphlet. We will let you hear from us as soon
as we receive a reply to our letter written to the Director of
Nursing, Cook County Bospital.
