My dear Mise Ledyards
Your letter of May 3rd has just been
received. I am, indeed, distressed to learn that you are
resigning your position with the American Red Crose on
January first. le your decision final in this respect?
Unfortunatel you have no under-
etudy in line to succeed you. While it sould be very
difficult to replace you under any circumstancee it would
be more difficult because of the existing situation in the
Branch Office. Have you anyone in mind who knowe your
territory and who is familiar with the office routine, and
who has B good background of experience, whom you feel night
qualify for the work?
I em also dieappointed to hear that you
will not be present at the Biennial Convention. I can well
understand, however, your reasens for not attending. Never-
theless, I am disappointed, bui moreso however to learn of
your inténtions to leave us. In the meantime, believe me as
