My dear Mrs. Lee:
E
Miss Hazel Dudley, Nursing Field Representative for Connecticut, has
written us that you have requested that the material in your enrollment
I
a
folder be sent to the State Nurses Association Counseling and Placement
Service at 252 Asylum Street, Hartford, Connecticut, since we are attempt-
ur
N/
ing to reduce our voluminous files of enrolled nurses.

We are pleased to inform you that the records of former employees of the
1/2
Red Cross will be placed in our historical file and will not be dismantled,
at least for the present. If at some later date it becomes necessary to
further reduce our files, we shall be glad to send you or the Placement
Service anything of value in your folder. We have reviewed your folder and
note that there does not seem to be anything of legal value. The material
consists of your original application for enrollment, credential from your
school of nursing, physical report and some old questionnaires and corres-
pondence.
Although a new plan for the enrollment of nurses is being developed we wish
to assure you and others that all nurses now enrolled will retain their
badges and will always be known as Red Cross nurses unless they are no longer
in good professional standing or voluntarily resign. However, in order to
retain an active status it will be necessary for enrolled nurses to serve
their local communities in some capacity through the various Red Cross pro-
grams. If and when you have time and inclination to be of service to your
chapter, we hope you will make your skills available in whatever capacity
you may wish to serve.
With best wishes.
Cordially yours,
Annabelle Petersen
