My dear Miss Boerhave:
In reply to your memo of September 11, regarding Miss
Genevieve LePrestre, I am sorry I cannot give you a current address
for her as we do not have one on file.
However, it may be helpful to you to know that Miss
LePrestre was assigned to the Hawaiian Unit recruited by the Red
Cross in 1942. When the work of that unit was completed, we were
informed that Miss LePrestre accepted an assignment to Kalaupapa
Leper Settlement, Kalaupapa, Molokai. We have not heard from this
nurse since June 1944. Her No. 2 card was sent to the Secretary
of the Committee in Hawaii, which explains its absence from your
files. I think it rather doubtful if Miss LePrestre was ever in-
ducted into the Army because we do not have any record of her
assignment:
