My dear Miss Leprestre:
I am sending you my greetings and my very best good wishes
for your success in this new undertaking of the Red Cross Nursing
Service. You have been carefully chosen from amongst those who
volunteered for this service and we think we have reason to be proud
of the nurses who make up your group. We are confident that the
bright record of the Red Cross Nursing Service with never suffer at
your hands. That is a record to be proud of for it has been built
of the courage and patience and single-minded dévotion of a splendid
line of those Red Cross nurses who have preceded you.
Because you will be there, we can.be sure that the victims
of war under your care will have skillful nursing and the confort of
that human sympathy which they will need so much.
I am happy to welcome you to the staff of the American Red
Cross Nursing Service.
1
Sincerely, your friend,
Mary Beard
Director, Nursing Service
