RECEIVED FEB 4- AMERICAN 1942 RED PACIFIC CROSS ARE January 6, 1942 INSURANCE NOTICE Insurance Coverage for American Red Cross Personnel Assigned to Stations Outside of the United States of America Life Insurance The American National Red Cross has taken out a Group Life. Insurance Policy with the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company of New York, cover- ing full time employees engaged in foreign war relief work outside of the United States as determined by The American National Red Cross: This insurance is effective as of the date of your departure from the United States or, if employed abroad, then from the dato of such employ- ment. On proof of death, or in the event of death resulting from permanent total disability incurred in Red Cross service, $2000.00 is payable to the beneficiary designated by you. Change of beneficiary may take place at any time upon written notice by you on blanks which the Red Cross will furnish. The Certificate of Insurance issued in your name by the insurance company will be filed in your personnel folder at National Headquarters unless we are instructed to deliver it to some designated person in this country or to yourself. All premiums will be paid by the American Red Cross without any expense to you. Insurance coverage ceases on the date of the termination of your employment as an employee of the American Red Cross engaged in foreign war relief operations outside of the United States. You have, however, the privilege of obtaining an individual policy from the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, without evidence of insurability, at a premium applicable to your attained ago, if you make application to the Company within thirty-one days after the termination of your employment. Sickness and Accident Insurance The American National Red Cross has also taken out a Group Sickness and Accident Policy with The Travolers Insurance Company at Hartford, Connecticut, covering the same personnel as above described. Insurance coverage is effective on the same dates as above indicated and terminates upon your return to the United States or upon the termination of your employment as an employee of the American Red Cross engaged in foreign war relief operations outside the United States, whichever first occurs. The American Red Cross pays all premiums. Individual Certificates issued in your name by the insurance company will be retained in your per onnel folder at National Headquarters unless you direct otherwise. Upon proof of loss submitted, the following indemnities will be paid by the insurance company:
