But it\nwas quite a surprize to find I was eligible after all,\nand there were many adjustments to be made. My family\nare quite against my going into service outside of the\ncountry, but will feel that it is necessary if no other\nduty is available.\nAs' I had applied to the U.S.Civil Service Commission\nalmost a year ago, supposing I was ineligible for Red\nCross Service because of my age, and had only heard\nfrom them once, the family feel that I should inquire\nonce more as to any service here in this country.\nI have asked for a prompt reply, so that I might still\nconsider the Hawaiian service withan the next week, so\nI would like to go ahead with all examinations, and\npreparations with you, just the same. I am only in-\nquiring about the Civil Service Public Health nursing\nto\nsatisfy my folks. Trusting you will understand"
