Dear Miss Dunbar: Thank you very much for your wire suggesting my serving with the Harvard Red Cross Unit. Western Union was unable to locate me until very late Wednesday evening, and I suggested that since morning you Beard would was understand in the city that and my coming inability to here. the to office accept I wanted in a the staff to Miss I would wait and discuss it with be sure appointment was entirely due to finanical obligations, which I must carry wherever I am. I am intensely interested in the work that the Unit is doing, since communical disease is my chief interest in mursing. I regret sincerely that I cannot ask for the appointment, and I appreciate your consideration of me.
