May I 1941 Kiss Gertrude Madley, 14254 Strathmoor Avenue, Detroit, Michigan AIR-MAIL My dear Miss Madley: Mr. Bowen called this morning and asked when you would be back. We told him you would be here on Monday. He wishes to make some definite plans for publicity on Tuesday and asked us to write to you about it as he wants to be assured that you will be here on Tuesday. Miss Martin called yesterday saying that a T.B. specialist who examined her felt that she was in good condition for the Unit and he was writing a letter to you giving his opinion. I explained that the letter to Harvard had already be sent and that you would take care of it when you returned. Miss Whittles is not able to go with the Unit. We have heard favorably from Miss Sterbach. The identification discs are to be ordered. Miss Phillips asked us to return the skirt to Best's this week, so I wrote her that you would keep it and reimburse her later. We are sorry you are not here for our picnic tonight The temperature is supposed to go up to 86 degrees this afternoon so it will be good to go to the country. If you let me know when you are returning, I'll meet you at the station, if you like. Sincerely yours, Alice M. Ulson, Assistant Chief Nurse, American Red Cross- Harvard Hospital Unit. 0/B
