I know K Miss Maltby, but have never heard her speak. Three or four years ago the Red Cross placed fifteen ortwenty Red Cross nurses on the various Chautauque circuits to talk about nursing, public health nursing and public health. I understand that Miss Maltby was a very popular and successful speaker. I imagine she would give a stimulating and inspir- ing talk on nur sing. I do not know how substantial it would be. She is rather of the intensive, emotional, dramatic temperament and there- fore, not having heard her speak I am not sure whether she emphasizes the emotional appeal rather than good sound facts about nursing. I do not want to do Miss Maltby any injustice for she my be an excellent speaker. but in choosing between her and Miss Tucker, I should always decide in I have no doubt she would make ammore stimulating address than I can, favor of Niss Tucker. If Miss Tucker is unable to accept your invitation of precaution that your students will want more than an emotional appeal. to Speak I would advise you to ask Miss Maltby, but to put in just a word Yours sincerely you PILING Elizabeth G.
