Extract of a letter to Miss Butler from Miss Johnson dated Jan., 22, 1932
"I have just come across a letter from you, speaking of the death of Miss
Frances Maltby. I heard it only a short time ago and was not very much
suprised as she had been in poor health for sometime. She had been a patient
at Bloomingdale for some months and was very anxious that it should not be
generally known, and when we went yp there to visit the sick nurses we did
not make a special effort to see her. Miss Hearn had told us that her case was
hopeless and I was not surprised when I heard that she had been moved to another
institution and had died."
Extract of a letter to Miss Johnson from Miss Butler dated Jan 29, 1932
"Thank you so much for your letter of January 22ned. "e have made the
final records of the death of Miss Frances Maltby and have received a very #####
grateful letter from her sister who wrote to both Miss Noyes and myself, as we
wrote to her relative to Miss Maltby's service with the Red Cross."
