with ut question. Nurses serving in foreign countries under the Red Cross are under serious ethical obligations not only to nursing pro- fession but to the Red Cross whom they represent. They should bear in mind that any slight act of indiscretion or thoughtlessness on their part may lay the Red Cross Nursing Service and the Nursing porfecsion or America open to serious criticism.. Conditions under which they may be working may call for a complete readjustment of their methods of living and working, and their outlook upon life. We do not look upon your assign- mult to foreign duty as a sacrifice but as a glorious privilega and an opportunity to carry the spirit of nursing and the apirit of the Red Cross wherever you amy go. We shellwatch your work with great interest through the reportd that are submitted to us through the representative of the Nursing Service in the country where you may be serving. We are always glad to hear from you at any time and we stand to assist you should the nead of such assist rea arise. Yourcarry with you our best wishes for your success. Beleive me as Yours very sincerely, Acting Director, Bureau of Field Nursing Service. V/MOD
