Dear Mrs. McManus:
I was so pleased when you were given the Florence Nightingale Award,
and more than happy that you were able to come to Philadelphia to personally
to
accept it on such short notice. It was a distinct pleasure to have the
e
opportunity to get to know you better.
I am enclosing two vouchers for you to fill out for the expenses
incurred in your trip. These should be itemized daily and include trans-
portation to and from your home in Massachusetts, with baggage, tips and
taxi fares also listed. The cost for meals and hotel should be itemized
too. Please sign in the lower right-hand space where I have marked an "X",
send one copy to me, and you may keep one copy for yourself until your check
has been received.
I am also enclosing a copy of the proposal which was submitted by the
nominating committee to the International Committee of the Red Cross, and
also the comments which were made by Mr. Harriman at the meeting. Many people
have commented on the appropriateness of your acceptance speech.
Sincerely,
Ann Magnussen
National Director
Nursing Services

Encl.
