Form 222
THE AMERICAN RED CROSS
NATIONAL HEADQUARTERS
To
Miss Fox.
Date
July 22, 1929.
From
Miss Noyes.
Subject
Did you know that Miss McNeil had been appointed by the
Southeastern Chapter? When I found that she had, and that the
Chapter was willing to have her act as Secretary of our Local Com-
mittee, I wrote to Mr. Smith and asked him if it would be possible
for her to come to National Headquarters and to go over the situa-
tion with us. He told me - that she had already been here, and
that he did not see how she could come again, and that he assumed
that she had gone over everything pertaining to her work with the
Heads of the Services here. I understand that Mrs. Baker had no
knowledge of her appointment either.
Miss Francis does not seem to feel that she knows any-
thing about Red Cross organization. Is it possible that she did
come to see me and that I have forgotten her? So many people come
in that this m ght have happened, although I am not apt to forget a
thing of this sort.
Please return Miss Francis and Mr. Smith's letter to
me as I have not acknowledged them.
Clara D. cloyes,
National Director,
N.H
Nursing Service.
