I beg to submit a statement from Dr. D. B. Moffett,
who operated upon Mise Nore Melton in the summer of 1919.
C
I am aleo attaching a letter from Mise Pauline
McVey, who was associated with "ies Melton during the fem
monthe ehe Was re-employed by the Visiting Nurse Aesociation
in Washington in the summer of the eame year, which immediately
followed her discharge from the émerican Red Cross.
I wrote to Mies Minnigerode, the Superintendent of
Nurses of the U. s. Public Health Service, in order to secure
if possible E further statement as to Mise Meltonts condition
when she was firet employed by that organization which followed
somstime after her operation in 1919. So far I have not been
able to eccure this information. I spoke to Mise Minnigerode
about it, when she gave me to underetand that trey incomplete
recorde vere kept at that time. I fear, therefore, it will be
difficult to secure any further information.
This statement from Dr. Moffett, however, would
appear to substantiate the clsime that have been made by Mies
Melton that ehe wea partielly disabled upon her discharge from
service. I hope you will find thece tro statemente helpful.
National Director,
N.H
