CONTRACT MADE THIS

between the Sib rian Commission of the AMERICAN ED CROSS, here-
inafter designated as ARC and
hereinafter
I.
I. I are as to enter the service of ARC for a inium meriod of 01
one ye Y from may 29-1919. provided, however, that if by change
of policy ARC find it necessary to restrict their staff they can di
dispense with B's services at any ti e within the period of one year,
by arranging for B's return to his( orher) none town, as provided for
in claus six, without claims-for breach of contract.
2. After eleven months from may 29-1919 B may terminate his
(or her( service by serving written notice oneemonth prior to desired
date of departure from the noint at which not or she) is then serving.
3. B agrees to serve ARC to the best of hie ( os her)ability,
recognizing that because it is a benevolent association, or she)
can be called unon to serve in any canacity in which , in the ominion
of ARC, be ( or she) is best suited.
4.
During the period of this contracti ARC will may the monthly
salary of
$90
payable in U.S.
currency
at
Vladivostok ARC ; will provid B with board and lodging, but
if for any reason they are unable to do so they shall pay to B the
further allowance of $4500 gold or the equivalent in roubles, in
lieu thereof, and B agrees to accept such a sum il. full and complete
settlement for the non-supply of board and lodging,

ARC will provide B with equipment not exceeding the cost of
$25000 Gold. B to make hie ( or her) wn purchases of materials
which must be in accordance with the standard requirements laid down
by ARC for thetuniforms to be worn by its staff, Renayments of these
sums will be made only unon presentation of vouchers showing that
the material has been received and is in accordance with ARC
enermore agreed that if for any reason
whatsoever B's services with ARC are terminated before Nov 29-1919
except by reason of a general reduction of ARC staff , B shall refund
to them all moneys which he or she) shall have received for his
( or her) equipment but in this case the equipment will remain his
( or her) property Is It is also agreed that in such a case ARC ray
reimburse themselves for clothing advences made to B deducting the
total of such advances from any sums due to B on account of salary
or expences.
