    "ocrText": "December 2, 1927.\nMiss Luey Minnigerode,\nU.S. Public Health Service Hospital,\nNorfolk, Virginia.\nMy dear Miss Minnigerode#\nI am very eorry to hear through Mies\nGaffney, today, that you will not be able to attend the Meeting\nof the National Committee on-Red Cross Nursing Service, on\nDecember 6th. It will not seem quite natural to have a Com-\nmittee Meeting without you. I do not recall that you have\nmissed one since you became a member. On this account I am\nstill sorrier to learn that you are not improving as rapidly\nas you hoped or expected. Do let me know whether there is\nanything that I can do for you.\nlife have been very very buspy The\nrepetition of disasters brings U6 always additional work,\nwhile the preparation for a Meeting of the National Committee\nis naturally one that gives me a great deal of hard work as\nwell as many anxious moments. I am always glad when it is\nover.\nI wrote a note to you, yesterday,\nasking to Have Miss Gaffney represent you, and also inviting\nher to attend the tes which I em giving to the National Com-\nmittee at the A.A.U.W., from five to eix-thirty on the after-\nnoon of the 6th.\nI hope that you will be able to\nreturn before Christmas, for while there is nothing like a\nHospital when you are acutely ill, still one does not like\nto be an inmate during the holidays, and especially that\nmost important one of the year, Christmas.\nOur little bridge club has head\ntwo meetings, the first one st Miss \"evins and the last one\nat Miss Sylvester's le had two tables and very enjoyable\nsessions. You and Miss Gregg were absent at the last one\nand your places were filled by Mrs. Earl Clark and her\nsister. At the first one Dr. and Mrs. Fuller substituted for\nyou and Miss Bowman."
