    "ocrText": "Miss Minnigerode.\n2.\nLast night I attended a Legion Meeting and\nB&W Mrs. Hickey installed 8.6 the Commander. There W88 quite\n& large number of men present, the Legion Post Commander Col.\nKenyon and Col. Bullie, Adjutant, as well as several others.\nI had an opportunity in addressing them to call attention to\nthe fact that the exservice nurse ie rarely mentioned, and\ngave one or two instances where the omission of such references\nhad seemed almost inexcusable, and that while no nurse served\nwith the idea of receiving any special credit or recognition,\nstill it had always seemed extraordinary that che should be\nso constantly overlooked in the consideration of Legion\naffairs. Miss Stimson followed me and \"rubbed it in\" still\nmore, consequently when the genglemen spoke they were good\nenough to say - that they had learned more about the nursing\nservice from the evening's experience than they had ever known\nbefore.\nWe have had the most wonderful weather\nhere, cherry trees have been in bloom, etc., but today it is\ndreary and raining. We are 80 spoiled that when a. rainy day\ncomes it seeme like an-imposition rather than 8. natural and\ninevitable phenomena.\nYesterday twelve of us from National Head-\nquartere went up to the Cafe St. Marks for luncheon. It was\na delicious meal and we enjoyed it. The place was crowded,\nwhich seemed to indicate that it we popular. I caught a\nglimpse of your brother George, who looked 80 thin that it\nmade me feel 88 if be should be put to bed and fed. He doesn't\nlook as if he took advantage of his opportunities at the Cafe.\nWe hope to see you back before very\nlong, don't trouble to write, but I shall be glad to hear\nwhat progress you are making.
