MaFine Hospital,\nNorfolk, Virginia.\nMy dear #iss Minnigerodes\nAg I have not heard from you\nfor such a long time, I am writing just a word before\nleaving the office, tomorrow night.\nIt has just been called to my\nattention that my letter of June sixth, congratulating\nyou upon receiving the award of the Florence Nightingale\nMedal was addressed to the Marine Hospital at Newport\nNews, so that I am enclosing a copy herewith. However,\nit is just possible that this did not reach you, but as\nit has not been returned I am hoping that you did. I\nhave heard from you indirectly from others, and it has\nseemed as if some of the reporte were 8. bit more favor-\nable.\nThey are giving a party tonight\nto Miss Parkhurst, prior to sailing. Evidently my stock\nis low with the \"Nitwits\", 88 1 too am sailing, but got\nno party. I am sorry that I will not be able to go,\nhowever, S.S I am leaving tomorrow and am submerged with\nwork incident to packing, arranging my apartment, etc.\nMiss Butler will probably move up, and it will be a\ngreat relief to me to have her there.
