126,516 June al, 1920. Miss Hizabeth Gortrude Wilson, 7631 Susquehana Street, Pittsburgh, Penna. My dear Miss wilsont- In realy to your letter of Jana 14. 1920, may I state that it will be necessary for us to wait until until you have the opportunity of returning your and Cross appointment card and badge to Red Cross Headquarters, before your 0688 san be presented to the National Committee on American 2nd Cross Nursing Service for consideration and fin33 action. We do not intend to appear to be unjast in our dealings with manage who have served under the Red Gross, but when their con- dust has been the object of criticism, wo think it Is quite essential that such charges which have been made should be presented to the WationalCormmittes whose responsibility It is to maintain the high standards of the Nursing Service. In one of the letters received from Siberia, is statement was made that in all probability you might be making a trip to Washington upon your return, and I believe that 1% would be much more satisfactory to you, as well as to us, If you could find 16 possible to domo to washington for a personel interview, as It is very difficult to go into details regarding the fasts in your 0630 in writing, and further more, a visit would give you a better opportunity to defend yourself and refute the charges made If they are not true. we will be glad to hear from you regarding this. Very truly yours, Director-Dupartment of Nursing. AGD:MD
