    "ocrText": "18466\nApril 6, 1918.\nHV WOER\nMiss Helen Freer,\nOak Forest, Ill.\nBayon a ARAJID\nMy dear Miss Freer:\nI DZO glad to receive your wire and'to know that you\nYOA38\n38\nJJIW\nbe available to aail on April 24th for service in Dr. Bellas'\nHospital in France.\nWe will have you scheduled to sail about April 34th. We can\nonly give an approximate date, but Dr. Babcock of the Personnel\nDivision will send you definite instructions, and may I ask that\nyou do not leave your home address until you have received and\nexecuted his instructions. This is essential if you ar to receive\nyour passport.\nI am enclosing a circular of information which gives you de-\ntailed instructions concerning mut Cerial for your passport. I\nwould suggest that you immediately secure information necessary,\nand I would further suggest that you have 3 dozen photographs\ninstead of 2 as mentioned in the circular, and that the size of\nthe head should not be more than 1 inch by 11 inches in order to\nfit some of the papers.\nWe request that you pay your transportation to New York, secur-\ning vouchers for all expenditures to present at the New York office\nfor reimbursement.\nYou ade allowed $3.00 a day hotel bill while in New York and\nsalary at $0.00 a day from data of leaving home to date of sailing,\nprovided there has been no stop-over on the way.\nThe salary paid is $60.00 a month and you are able to make\nwhatever allotment you desire of this salary before leaving this\ncountry. After leaving there can be no change made in the method o\nof payment of salary.\nThe nurses should carry with them a reserve fund of at last\n$100, and half of this should be in French money for greater con-\n6\nveneince.\n6\nAll bu nass arrangements are made by Dr. Babcock of the\nBureau of Transportation who will sand you instructions, and may\nI repeat that you should not leavo home until you have received"
