Glendenning, 402 Linden Street, Wellesley Hills, Massachusetts. / My dear Miss fulville: D In order to maintain a roster showing the status of each nurse, our Red Cross nurses are lassified into four reserves as follows: War Reserve: Includes single and married nurses between 20 and 45 years of age who are eligible and available for military service. irst Reserve: Includes single or married nurses under 15, who are eligible for assignment with the armed forces, but for legitimate reasons are not available in the near future. Second Reserve: Includes nurses 45 years of age and over, not eligible for service with the armed forces, but active and available for all types of service except military duty. Third Reserve: Includes - A. Nurses who fail to keep their records active by responding to the annual questionnaire. B. Nurses who are no longer able to carry on any type of Red Cross service for the reason that they are physically disqualified. C. Nurses who definitely state their unavailability for any type of active duty, for other reasons. You have been transferred to the Third Reserve because you fall in group described above. It is hoped that, although your records are now in our inactive file, your interest in the Red Cross Nursing Service will encourage you to stimulate enrollment among those nurses eligible for the War Reserve and that you will parti- cipate in the volunteer activities of your local chaptor.
