    "ocrText": "E\n2\nDE\nIn accordance with the nomination of the\nLocal Committee on Red Cross Nursing Service, we are pleased to appoint you to mem-\nbership to serve in the capacity of key nurse.\nThe developments in connection with national defense and our responsi-\nbilities for providing large numbers of nurses for the military forces, as well as\ndisaster preparedness, makes it imperative that each member of the Committee have a\ndefinite share in its prescribed work. We hope you will find the work interesting\nand stimulating, also that you will make an effort to attend all Committee meetings\nin order to keep informed and participate in the plans of the Committee.\nFor your information and guidance we are sending you a portfolio of in-\nstructive material which we hope you will take time to study. The enclosed \"Sug-\ngestions for Key Nurses,' ARC 710 c, will also be of help to you in understanding\nyour duties and responsibilities. The officers and members of the Committee are\nlisted on a separate sheet herewith enclosed.\nThe secretary will provide you with a list of the enrolled Red Cross\nnurses in your territory which covers\nIt is recommended that key nurses represent the Local Committee on Red\nCross Nursing Service on Chapter committees whose activities are related to nursing,\nespecially disaster preparedness.\nThe Chapters in your area aré being notified of your appointment as key\nnurse\nand your willingness to be of service if and when enrolled Red Cross nurses\nare needed for disaster work or other Red Cross activities.
