My dear Miss Murphy: Your physical has been approved by our Red Cross medical advisor and we are now in a position to offer you the appointment of staff nurse with the emergency civilian hospital being set up on the Island of Kauai under the jurisdiction of the O.C.D. in the Territory of Hawaii. This position carries the salary of $110 a month, including room, two meals a day and laundering of uniforms. Your salary will start from the time you take the oath of office in dan Francisco as will also the terms of employment with the O.C.D. in accordance with the notification which 'was given to you on September 23. In order to complete final arrangements for your departure, will you please read over very carefully all detailed instructions that have been given you and which are enclosed. lie are enclosing a check for $300. to cover your expenses for travel and maintenance. Please be sure to fill out all the necessary forms now in your possession and return those that need be returned to this office before leaving the mainland. Also please note the instructions concerning funds for traveling expenses which are enclosed. Therefore, enclosed you will find the following: 1. Advance check for $300 2. Instructions re funds for travel 3. Reimbursement agreement 4.
