Nelson,\n460 West 147th Street,\nNew York City.\nMy dear Miss Nel SD n:\nI have been a long time about answering your letter of June 13th\nbecause I have not had definite word from t he Gulf Division. I\nknew\nMr. Hopkins, the Manager of the Gulf Div si on, expected to visit Headquarters\nand was therefore delaying final action. He came in to the office this\nmorning and talked the whole si tuation o ver with me. I think he is very\nglad that we have secured your promise o f accepting the position and hopes\nto close he matter with you personally on Monday of next week. He expects\nto be in New York on Monday the 12th and wants to get in touch with you\npersonally in order to make the final arrangements. I have given him your\naddress and he hopes to be able to f ind you by telephone through this a d-\ndress. If he is unable to reach you in this way will you call up Miss\nJohnson of the Atlantic Division and t ell her where he may find you.\nI shall be much relieved when I know the whole matter is S ettled\nand the date for t he assumption of your new duties set. Miss Noyes and I\nboth want you to stop in Washington for a few days on your way south in\norder that we may go into many matters in connection with the work with\nI hope this vi 11 be before the middle of August as I am rather plan-\nning you. to get away on my vacation at that time.
