My dear Miss Van Duzor:
Your letter asking for information
about Miss Mary K. Nelson has been received. Miss Nelson
is a student here during the present year taking the
full course in theory so we have no opportunity to
judge of her ability in the practical field.
Miss Nelson has had a wide experience,
has a pleasing personality, and impresses us as a woman
of refinement, with wide vision, good judgment, and
poise. Her approach to people is very satisfactory.
Although she has not had practical
experience in the public health field, I feel that she
would do a valuable piece of work even in such a large
field as a state position offers, but would recommend
that she should have time to become familiar with the
nursing situation in the state before a permanent ap-
pointment is made.
