Extracted from letter from Miss Johnson to Miss Noyes Apr. 29, 1922.
This morning we went to meet the Fall River boat to greet the little Czech nurse
who is coming to Bay Shore and found to our joy that Mary K. Nelson was with her.
Today ws Patriots Day and their office wasgclosedaso she came over last night and is
going back tonight. We had a nice visit with her this morning. This afternoon she
has gone to Nursing Headquarters and to the College. She certainly is a dandy.
I
wish I saw more of her. She looks like a new person since her operation - is putting
on weight and seems so well and enthusiastic.
I was so interested again in seeing the little Czech nurse who came over with Miss
Brezinova. When I last saw herm she could speak no English at all. Now she speaks
very well. She has been over-working and they have taken her out of ward duty and
are sending her to Bay Shore for serva weeks to see what that will do for her. WE
are inviting Miss Cerna to go down for the week-end as they will enjoy talking
together and it will make her feel more at home."
Ans. by Miss Noyes, Apr. 21, 1922.
I knew about Miss Ruzickova, and am delighted that we have a place to send her.
I trust she comes put satisfactorily. I should not wasnt another experience similar
to Miss Brezinova."
