My dear Miss Newmann:
No report has been received at this office,
to show that your services were not satisfactory with the Red
Cross.
We are from time to time sending small groups
of nurses overseas, but I should advise you to remain in this
country for the present, as the need here is very great, especially
in connection with the United States Public Health Hospitals. The
nurses that we are sending abroad are those who have had an ex-
tensive public health training and experience.
