Dear Miss Noyes:
Your last letter has lain on my desk a very long
time as a reminder that any authentic information about the
school in Prague should be sent on to you.
There has been little information of the sort that would
be of interest to you beyond the "Report" of November 1924 of
which you received a copy. This is probably because I have
written very little to the people there though I have received
many friendly and appreciative letters from them.
I came back thoroughly tired and cynical about the
people and the future of the work; this feeling was natural
perhaps after the strain of three and a half years work in such
circumstances as existed there but I see now that it was unjust
and unreasonable.I think it would have been different if I could
have had a good talk with you as soon as I returned. After re-
turning I had to face my own problems of finding a job ,getting
adjusted to life here, and the various personal responsibilities
perplexities which every one must deal with and these left
very little time or interest in other things
Recently I have been getting in touch with the school
again and I am encloding a letter which I have just received
from one of our. graduates--Miss Molnarova. She was ene of
Miss Masaryk's secretaries when we first went to Prague and as
one of the few English speaking ones we frequently came in con-
tact with her.She was then about thirty years old, of good
family, intelligent, and well educated. She entered the school
the year before we left. This is by way of background because I
know that she in intelligent enough to really understand what
nursing means and one may believe what she says. The letter
speaks for itself and I believe it gi ves a truthful picture
of what is going on there.
I have written to her again asking her to send me a
copy of the curriculum which will tell more about subjects and
hours of class work.I have also asked her if the plan formul-
was ever carried out.
ated by Dr.Prochazka for distribution of students during training
In addition to the letter from Miss Molnarova I have just
had a visit from Miss Pozdilkova who was in our first class to
graduate. (She was also in the short course which we gave that
first spring ) She was given one of the Rockefellar Foundation
scholarships for study of Public fealth work and has been in
Montreal during the winter and spring; she is now at the Phila.
General Hospital to complete her preparation and will return to
Czechoslovakia this fall.
