N 0 + 'Mis rozdilkova had dinner with me and we had the opportunity for a heart to heart talk and I could ask all the questions I wanted to pparently the curriculum is about as we planned it; the students are having a broader practical experience in working in Macharova appears to be the right person both by her social background and by her own personal qualities, Because of these advantages she will be able to do more with the "hard-boiled" director of the hospital than anyone else could. Miss Pozdilkova is not as fine a type of woman as Miss Mol- narova but 1 think we can rely upon what she says and I feel greatly encouraged. One of the most hopeful signs,to me,is the way in which they are making contacts with other groups such as the International Course in London, study in other countries even though it is public health and not nursing education they cannot fail to get new ideas about schoold, and the contact with the International Council. Even though the short-lived "European Council" was a mis- take in itself I feel that it has had good results infforting the very stiff-necked International Council to turn its gaze from the lofty heights of its own ideals down to the lowly groups who are struggling for their very existence. I am planning to go to Montreal next summer for the Council meeting--though perhaps it would be better if I went incognitor-and I hope to meet some of the nurses from Prague there. Tabue It may be that you have had other information about the school-though the visit to it seemed disappointing to judge from the report in the Journal I should be very glad to hear any thing that you may have learned about it.I have had time enough to get over my "complex" about it and look forward to a renewal of old associations. Some day after I have reached the retiring age, I hope to visit it again. Miss Lentell is taking the summer school course at Teachers College as a brushing up preparatory to going back to nursing It is a sort of gesture of independence after five years of sacrifice to the demands of what has always seemed to me a very selfish family She is a fine woman and I am so glad that her whole professional life is not to be sacrificed as it seemed once that it would be. I saw Miss Besom a few days ago and she telle me there is a possibility of her going back to the Phillipines.I shall be sorry to have ber so far away beyond the possibility of visits but each must work out her own destiny I suppose. I have been here in my own school as instructor for four years and am very happy in my work though, after reading Dr Burgess' book "Nurse, Patients, and Pocketbooks" one cannot help wondering what is going to happen to the Hursing profession-- and nursing education--ir the future. This has grown to a much greater length than I anticipated when I began but it does seem like old times to be writing to you again about Prague. I hope that you are quite well again and that I shall see you again sometime. Very sincerely, warm I Parsone.
