Miss Christine M. Nuno,
St. Luke's International Hospital,
Tokyo, Japan.
My dear Miss Nuno:
A communication has reached me from Miss Hagiwara,
in which she sends me a list of the nurses organizations which have
become members of the Japanese National Nursing Society. I presume
you are familiar with this list, therefore, I would appreciate if
you would check up on some of these institutions, especially those
of
Korea, about which I am a little puzzled. For example - id not Miss
Hagiwara agree to an affiliation between the National Society of Nurses
of Korea and that of Japan? / This society, of course, includes all
the nurses in Korea that are eligible and not individual schools.
It looks somewhat as if the nurses in Kore were connected with
missionary schools had been discriminated against. I have just
written to Miss Hagiwara to acknowledge receipt of the list, but I
would ba glad of further information from you. I notice that St.
Lukes is included.
That reminds me of a communication from Miss
Rena daig, Asst. National Director Nursing Service, Pacific Branch
Uffice, received this morning speaks of the Bureau of Registration
of Nurses, stating - "that the Chief of the Bureau, Miss White, has
resigned to accept the position of Director of the School of Nursing
in St. Luke's Hospital in Tokyo." She does not give me the first
nane so I cannot look her up to see if she is a member of our family
or not.
By the way, Mrs. Henderson whom you probably
knew &S Miss King, saw you in a movie the ther night. She recognized
you immediately and what is more, she says that she was thrilled when
W
she saw you. She thinks you were entirely too modest. I saw some of
the newspaper publicity the other day, showing Lin y and his wife at the
hóspital with Dr. Teusler and an ex-patient apparently showing off the
new baby. Instead of looking at the babies in Japan, I should think
they would want to look at their own baby in the United States. Also,
I hear that Lindy has offered himself to the Japanese Government to
do something or other in connection with the flood situation. It seems
& long time since I have heard from you, but perhaps that is my fault.
With all good wishes, I em as always

Sincerely yours,
7/4/
