Mrs. St. John, Miss Peters\nand Miss Sullivan did not stay for the discussions, as they were'nt\nM\ndelegates, but I asked to stay and did my best to make it go right.\ne\nAt one-thirty, the meeting reassembled, the chairman of the\nafternnon, committees gave their reports which did'nt amount to much\ns\nas there was much discussion and no decision except they were all\nC\nagreed something must be done about it.\ne\nKajima San went to the preliminary standard of education. She\nis a Hackensack graduate T.C. and Henry St. Saito San went to the\nSchool and Post-Graduate discussion and so did Mrs. Hora. I went\nto the other. Miss Saito is a graduate of Peter Brent Brigham,\nSimmons and Community Health Center.\nThe delegates were asked to vote on the constitution, as it stood,\nwhich they did, and then refered it back to the committee to be amen-\nded and presented at the next meeting, next year. The ticket was\nread and one delegate cast the vote for the whole lot, as there was\nplications and Miss Hagiwara was more willing to do it our way, if\nonly one ticket presented. (this year we thought it would save com-\nthere was'nt a possibility of her being elimination.)\nDr. Inouye made the principal address during the war, he was\nSurgeon General, he has now retired and is the Secretary General and of\nthe Red Cross. He has recently returned from a Brussels meeting\nnurses in America. He drew the parallel between lack of education\ndifferent countries, spoke of the Public Health in Toronto and\nspoke awfully well, telling of all he saw of nursing, etc. in all the the\nand lack of social position and said the nurses of America were\nsocially acceptable as consistant with their higher education. I\ntook followed by Dr. Iguchi who spoke of Florence Nightingale and likened A.D.\nnotes and will send the thing to you by the next boat. He was\nher and her spirit to one of the first Empresses twelve hundred\nwhere also very 235 sat down together, Korea and Formosa did not send a delegate,\ngood, then the meeting adjourned, and reassembled at a dinner\nbut a cable came from them during the dinner and we replied with one\nfor their dinner which was being held at the same time\nW\nThe second morning. all the out of town people and some of the in\nwent to the Imperial Garden, a beautiful spot as all the\nw\nazelia town ones are in bloom. After that (took about two hours) the hospital\nwere famous Imperial Library was open for an hour and then 135 came with tea. St.\nvisited, Keio, Imperial and Red Cross.
