Miss Christine M. Nuno,
3
419 West 110th Street,
New York City.
My dear Miss Nuno:
Thank you very much for letting me read Miss
Hagiwara's letter. She does not say anything in this about their
National Association. I have written to her since Christmas, not
only to thank her for her Christmas card, or rather calendar, but
also to inquire into the progress that they were making toward the
proposed federation.
I am enclosing a letter which came to you from
New York.
Miss Fox does not leave us until Mey, and I
presune Mies Havay, if she is woll enough (she is now 111 with a
kidney infecti n) will be her successor. We are not doing any-
thing about it, at least for the present. Miss Havay has had-
many years of experience with the Red Cross and is very accept-
able to everyone.
We are having another taste of winter this
morning, after summer for nearly a week, during which the jonquils
and other spring flowers made rapid progress. My garden has been
greatly improved by a new brick wall, and has had a spring house-
cleaning in anticipation of the coming warm weather. With best
wishes, I am as always
Vory sincerely yours,
National Director, Nursing Service.
